For the best results, chill the bowl and beaters for at least an hour before whipping cream.
Ingredients:
Crust
1 Pillsbury® refrigerated pie crust (from 15-oz box), softened as directed on box

2 tablespoons sesame seed, toasted*

Filling
1 package unflavored gelatin
1/4 cup cold water
1 package (8 oz) chopped dates (1 3/4 cups)
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
2 egg yolks
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups whipping cream
2 tablespoons sugar
1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

Preparation Directions:
1 .
Heat oven to 450°F. Make pie crust as directed on box for One-Crust Baked Shell using 9-inch glass pie pan. Press toasted seeds into bottom of crust-lined pan. Bake 9 to 11 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool completely, about 30 minutes.
2 .
Meanwhile, in small bowl, sprinkle gelatin over 1/4 cup cold water; set aside to soften. In 2-quart saucepan, mix dates, 1/4 cup sugar, the salt, milk and egg yolks. Cook over medium heat 10 to 12 minutes, stirring constantly, until mixture is slightly thickened. Remove from heat. Stir in softened gelatin and vanilla until gelatin is dissolved. Refrigerate, stirring occasionally, until date mixture is thickened and partially set.
3 .
In small bowl with electric mixer, beat whipping cream and 2 tablespoons sugar on high speed until stiff peaks form. Fold whipped cream into date mixture. Spoon filling into cooled baked shell; sprinkle with nutmeg. Refrigerate at least 2 hours before serving. Store in refrigerator.

German Chocolate Bar

1 German chocolate cake mix
1/2 cup melted butter
1 egg

Mix together and pour into a greased and floured 9 x 13 cake pan.

2 cups coconut
2cups chocolate chips
2 cups nuts
1 can sweetened condensted milk

Sprinkle the coconut, chocolate chips and nuts on top. Whisk in the egg yolks, and remove from the heat. Stir in the lime juice and lemon extract.
Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker, and freeze according to the manufacturer's instructions. This recipe takes a bit longer to set up than the usual ice cream.
Once the ice cream is thick, open the canister, and place large pieces of graham cracker evenly on each side. They will break into smaller pieces as the machine churns. Mix for about 5 more minutes. Transfer to a freezer container, seal, and freeze until solid. I like to use 1 gallon resealable freezer bags.

Mini Cheesecakes

"Easy and so good for holidays, weddings, or whatever the occasion!"

Original recipe yield: 48 mini cheesecakes.

INGREDIENTS:
2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese
3/4 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 (12 ounce) package vanilla wafers
1 (21 ounce) can cherry pie filling

DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). It will be the hit of the party! ;)

Get a chocolate cake mix. Half the batter into 2 cake pans. Make 2 thins cakes instead of 1 regular size. It takes about half the time to bake.

Let the cakes cool. I refridgerate mine.

ONLY WHEN YOU ARE READY TO SERVE...
Get a box of vanilla ice cream or whatever your favorite is. It has to be a box so you can totally unwrap it. Peel the box all the way off. Take a long butcher knife and slice into 3 even slices long ways (rectangular, not squares). Lay the slices on one of the layers of cake. You may have to line it up and cut some extra off so it covers it completely. Once you have a solid layer of ice cream. Put the other cake on top. You should have a HUGE ice cream sandwich lookin cake! LOL!! Yum!

Anywho... warm some hot fudge (you can usual buy it in the ice cream topping section) in the microwave. Cut the cake and spoon fudge over the top. You can add whip cream and a cherry if you like. :)

****I may have possibly cut the ice cream into 4 slices and the halved one of the slices to fit on the edges. You should be able to tell by the size cake you have.

Chocolate Bar Fondue

32 ounces milk chocolate, graded
1 1/4 cups heavy cream
1 tbsp instant coffee powder
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp white sugar
1/3 cup hot water

In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the chocolate with the heavy cream. I really want to get into canning this year!
I have even considered canning meat. That may sound gross to some, but I have been reading my 1953 cookbook and you CAN in fact can meats as well! I thought, If I can find a good deal on chicken that would be a great way to save money, just can a whole batch while it's cheap and have it for months to come! But, mainly I want to can fruit (cherries, peaches, and anything else) and I want to do dill pickles for my hubby, also green beans and beets for my dad. I might want to attempt jams and jellies as well. So, any recipes you have that are tried and true, please post!
